Merry Christmas!

 Dec. 23

I love you all so much! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Here's some pictures!

This week was great, we had the entire north half of the mission at a Christmas devotional! They were all really cool! It was awesome having so many missionaries in one place. Kinda like the MTC.

Mango season now, wow, they're sooo good... be jealous.

I got two packages from Kathy :) Thank you so much! Everything in the box it seemed I was craving! And the drinks are PERFECT, I'm sick of water here, haha! Just wait till she sees the pictures I'm going send to her! I still haven't got my package from home yet, but I'm patient.

Happy new year! I had baptisms here last week! The work is GREAT! It's progressing. Our goal is to make it a stake and not a district! Anyways, Love you all! Enjoy the pictures!

That's the mountain that I'm gonna hike in the day time and the night time! It's not dangerous, the members said, so don't worry!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

You can see the mountain behind the church.

I Got Transferred!

Dec. 16th

I GOT TRANSFERRED! and no, that's not a happy thing. I loooooooooved my last area SOOO much... man. But it was fine, I didn't say by, so it wasn't too sad. Oh well. Well I'm in San Antonio zone now in a town called Cabangan. There used to be sisters there in the house but now Elders. and it also used to be one set of missionaries but now its 2 sets. One of the kids was in the MTC with me and were rockin it in Tagalog. We woke up at 5 am to play basketball this morning. I played pretty well. The players are pretty good here. It's beautiful, I'm in the mountains and we're going to hike next week on a huge mountain with the first councilor.

Anyways, this is a biking area, so I'm pretty soar. I love biking though and its speechlessly beautiful by the ocean, hills, rice farms and hills. Although tiring, I'm getting stronger and I'm looving the views and stuff. I haven't yet gone to the beach but apparently its like Hawaii. I'm going tomorrow to check it out real quick and we'll have FHE out there in the future. I don't have my camera but I will show you pictures. There are 3 other missionaries living here. They're being disobedient so I'm being the best example I can be!

Love you all SOOO much! Merry Christmas!

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRISTOF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

Philippine Olongapo Mission

Km. 140 National Highway, Manga-Vaca

Philippines

12 December 2012

Dear Sister Kapeliela,

I am very pleased to inform you that your son, Elder Beau Solomon Kaanaana Kapeliela, has been assigned to a new area. His new area will be in Cabangan which belongs to the San Narciso District, San Antonio Zone, and he will be serving with his companion Elder Mel Caunca who is also an outstanding missionary. You can be assured that your son will be in good hands and will learn much from his companion. We express our confidence that the two of them will enjoy the companionship of each other and will support each other as they prayerfully strive to do the Lord’s work. We encourage you to be a part of his missionary effort by praying always for their success.

Cabangan is a wonderful place, the people are loving and kind, and you will also find the people to be hospitable and teachable. The members in Cabangan are supportive with regards to missionary work and they are always excited to work with the Missionaries and involve themselves to the work.

We encourage you to write your son each week and please include encouraging news of family events, achievements, spiritual experiences and other matters which will bring joy and deeper commitment. We also encourage you to be a part of your son’s missionary service by writing to your son’s investigators and new converts, and express your love and your testimony of the Gospel.

Elder Kapeliela is a great missionary. He does what is expected of him as a full-time missionary. You can be very pleased with your son. We thank you for raising a wonderful son and we appreciate the opportunity to work with him. We assure you that we will do all we can do to see that he will have a fulfilling mission. We love your missionary and want this mission to be the greatest experience for him and for your family. May God bless you always.

Dec. 9th Pictures

We were walking on this bridge and randomly the song Gingham Style came on and was Blasting, so on this super sketchy bridge like 30 feet above a river we were doing the dance, haha. We were on companionship exchanges haha

Bagyo

I have a new hobby of collecting different pictures of religions because there are just SO many religions here.

The storm was in New Bataan, not Bataan so I am perfectly fine. In fact it only sprinkled and there wasn't any extra wind that I noticed.  The deaths and casualties in the south were soo sad. Literally like Pearl Harbor, but whole families died. A whole city got destroyed. They weren't prepared. All is well up here, plus its way more sturdy up here.
I can honestly say that I have not been cold here once. Well once in the bishops office by the AC, and General conference. But, totally fine over here. I'll always tell you as fast as I can if there is a storm here.

There was a giant parade here the other day where little kids dress up as nations of Asia and the world and make little floats and ride down the street. There were 3 Hawaiian floats and it made me super happy! They were all dressed up in little hula outfits.

I read a talk from Elder Bednar about prayer. Man he destroys my mind, but what I got out of it was that we need to act more after our prayers. If you pray for something, do something to show faith that you are trying to obtain that. I don't know. I guess my message is to just to act more on our prayers.

I have NO idea why people think I look like David Archuleta but they do, and it brings a great missionary opportunity every time because he's on a mission! But yeah, I don't know why they said I look like him.

Every time I am riding down the street and look to the left or right it's just breath takingly beautiful here. I know I'm gonna miss it here. I'm still trying to decided if you guys could handle it here hahaha.

Tomorrow is transfers. My guess is that my comp will go train and that I'll get a new companion. Or we'll both stay here. But I have no idea.

Buy a hot tub so that I can use it when I get back! Haha

When I raise a family. I'm raising them in Washington, 100%.

Filipinos know how to celebrate Christmas.

I love you all! Successful week! We've averaged 12 new investigators every week! Best in the mission!
